Uneven floors cost time
Levelling, priming and boarding should be priced separately from the tiling.
Pricing floor preparation →Planning estimates only. Adhesive figures are typical manufacturer consumption rates (e.g. Mapei Adesilex P9); grout uses the standard formula (L+W)/(L×W) × joint width × tile thickness × 1.6, plus 10%. Always check the data sheet for the product you are using.
Multiply the length by the width of the room, add any bays or alcoves, and take off anything that won't be tiled, like fitted kitchen units or a bath. Add wastage for the layout: about 10% for a straight lay, 15% for diagonal and 20–25% for herringbone. Floors usually need more adhesive than walls. Mapei's data sheet puts large-format tiles and floors that need a solid bed at about 5 kg/m², so that's the starting value here.

Pricing floor preparation →What to measure, what to allow for, and how to price it.
Read the guide →Both use more tile and take longer to lay. Price them accordingly.
Pricing herringbone →Measure the room in TileIQ, or straight from a Leica Disto by Bluetooth, and it works out tiles, adhesive, grout and prep for every floor and wall, then puts them into the quote.
Work out tiles, adhesive and grout for walls, with doors and windows taken off.
